任天堂、売上高、利益ともに過去最高（海外売上比率は87.5％）
「任天堂は5月7日、2009年3月期の通期連結決算を発表した。売上高、営業利益、経常利益、純利益ともに過去最高を記録した。海外売上比率は87.5％にのぼる。売上高は前期比9.9％増の1兆8386億円、営業利益は同14.0％増の5552億円、経常利益は同1.8％増の4486億円、純利益は同8.5％増の2790億円となった。なお、円高の影響で、為替差損を1339億円計上している。売上高の87.5％にあたる1兆6096億円は海外での売り上げだ。」

任天堂、今期は営業減益見通し　DS：曲がり角　Wii：横ばい
「任天堂は5月7日、2010年3月期（2009年度）の連結営業利益が前期比で11.8％減の4900億円になる見通しだと発表した。前期決算は売上高・利益とも過去最高を更新したが、今期はニンテンドーDSの販売が本体・ソフトとも減少に転じると見込む。今期のニンテンドーDS本体の販売台数予想は3000万台。前期（08年度）の3118万台から3.8％減を見込む。前期は米国や欧州で販売が拡大したものの、普及が一巡した国内は401万台（うちニンテンドーDSiは222万台）にとどまり、その前の期（07年度）の636万台から37％減となった（国内累計は2639万台）。ニンテンドーDS用ソフトの販売本数は、前期の1億9731万本から8.8％減となる1億8000万本を見込んでいる。」

「BRUSSELS (AFP) - The European Commission stepped up its offensive on mobile phone fees Thursday, calling for a clampdown on rates operators charge to connect to each other's networks.The European Union's executive arm urged national regulators to ensure that such so-called termination rates are based on the real costs an efficient operator incurs for passing on a call from another operator.Such rates vary widely among EU countries, from two euro cents per minute in Cyprus to 15 euro cents in Bulgaria with an average across the 27-nation European Union of 8.55 cents.」

「U.S. consumers are warming to Blu-ray disc players in a big way, according to The NPD Group, a market research firm. First quarter 2009 sales of standalone Blu-ray players in the U.S. topped 400,000 units, a significant 72 percent increase over Q1 2008.Two trends are leading the sales surge: A rising number of HDTV owners seeking high-def content, and cheaper Blu-ray players."The rising penetration of high-definition televisions and lower Blu-ray player prices are broadening the format’s market opportunity," said NPD Group analyst Ross Rubin in a prepared statement.」
