『iPhone lite』に向け 、Verizon WirelessとApple が交渉中か
「Apple と米国の大手移動体通信事業者 Verizon Wireless がハイレベルな交渉を行なっていると報じられている。ただし報道によれば、これは現在 AT&T が持つ『iPhone』の独占販売権を移行させるための交渉ではなく、Wi-Fi 機能を備えた超小型のタブレット型 PC、および iPhone のミニチュア版をリリースする計画に関するものだとしている。BusinessWeek が27日に報じたところによれば、Apple と Verizon は現在、「Wi-Fi 接続を介した通話が可能」で、「音楽を聴いたり、画像を閲覧したり、高品位 (HD) の動画を視聴できるメディアパッド」の計画について話し合いを進めているという。」

Motorola rings up more losses
「Troubled US mobile phone maker Motorola reported a wider quarterly net loss on Thursday and said it expects to ring up further losses this quarter.The Illinois-based company posted a net loss of 231 million dollars, or 13 cents per share, in the first three months of the year compared with a net loss of 194 million dollars during the same quarter a year ago.Revenue fell 28 percent during the quarter to 5.4 billion dollars.Motorola said it expects a net loss of between three cents per share and five cents per share during the current quarter.」

Motorola Hangs Smartphone Future on Android
