2008年度の携帯電話出荷台数が過去最低を記録、減少傾向は2010年度まで継続
「MM総研は4月22日、2008年度通期（2008年4月〜2009年3月)の国内携帯電話出荷状況を発表した。通期出荷台数は、2000年度の調査開始以来初めて4000万台を下回り、過去最低となったという。2008年度通期の出荷台数は、前年同期比29.3％減の3589万台となった。半期ごとの出荷台数では、上期が同21.2％減の1981万台、下期は同37.3％減の1608万台となった。」

「端末販売、1000万台は維持する」 とKDDI小野寺社長2009年３月期決算発表
「KDDIが23日発表した2009年３月期の連結決算は、売上高が前の期比３％減の３兆4975億円、営業利益が11％増の4432億円だった。携帯電話端末の販売台数が32％減の1081万台と大きく落ち込んだが、端末の販売手数料が減ったため利益が増えた。記者会見した小野寺正社長は端末の販売不振について「よい端末を投入すれば販売は伸びる。年間1000万台を今後の目標にする」と述べた。」

Amazon net profit up, Kindle sales praised
「US online retail giant Amazon announced a 24 percent increase in quarterly net profit on Thursday and said sales of its electronic book reader, the Kindle, had exceeded expectations.The Seattle, Washington-based Amazon said net profit rose to 177 million dollars in the first quarter, or 41 cents per share, from 143 million dollars, or 34 cents per share, in the same quarter last year.」
